We buy from the Karen and Hmong people and visit annually to buy their treasures. They are among the few silversmiths that still work in the traditional way, no machinery, just hands and a few basic tools – a flame, a hammer, hand forged stamps - and tradition that has been handed down through the family for as long as anyone can remember.

FAQs

Are these heavy? We offer a range of Hilltribe silver earrings, from dainty little ones to big statement hoops. They are all priced by weight, so the more expensive they are the heavier they are. It's all personal preference but we'd say that once you hit the $80 mark they are getting over the average weight. Once you go over $100 they are on the heavier side and might be more of an occasion piece and not an everyday choice. 

How do I care for my Thai silver? To keep your ring looking its best, clean it with a soft cloth and a little lime juice. 

Are these earrings ethically made? We are happy to say that they are! We travel once a year to meet with these artisans in Northern Thailand. They run their own cooperative, set their own prices, use only traditional methods of production and have many policies set up to support workers and ensure ethics.
