The Three-Week Process For Each Gong

The gong begins as a silver-nickel "sheet" and Jose marks it, to guide his hammered and firing. The edge is burned in numerologically aligned patterns, then cooled for days while the metal rests, and relaxes. It's a slow unfolding the tension.

The rest phases are important, there is as much skill and artistry in the stopping of work, as in the hammering.

With no rush and deadline, the gongs we produce with Jose are few but special.
