A brand new wine for Platinetti & their very first ever rose wine. The Luisa is named after their grandmother - dedicated to her for all the lunches she prepares for them after work.
The cepage is 95% Nebbiolo & 5% Barbera - a delicious but vinous & serious rosato, although you'd expect no less from Platinetti. Maceration in contact with the skins overnight and bloodletting the next morning. Aging 4 months in steel tanks.
93 Points, Gary Walsh (TWF) - "Gee, this speaks of both Nebbiolo and region (Ghemme) so clearly. It’s fuller in colour, has cherry, alpine herbs, a bit of almond, flowers and spice too. I little bit stony and savoury, but bright in cherry and red fruits, there’s some blood orange and amaro in the mix, and it finishes bright and firm. Lovely rosato, and so full of character."
