Purpose

This pilot assembly creates the initial flame needed to ignite your main burner while its built-in safety components monitor flame presence. The thermocouple or thermopile detects when the pilot is lit and signals the gas valve to remain open, preventing dangerous unburned gas release if the flame extinguishes unexpectedly.
