This print was commissioned for Northern Print's Glossary exhibition for the last venue of the tour, the DLI Museum and Art Gallery in Durham. Katherine’s print was inspired by the medal room in the museum, with clear references to the medal ribbons. She says, “Some of the significant shapes in this piece reflect the medal ribbons in the DLI collection – the absence of the medals reflecting the absence of these stories from the history of conflict. The piece stemmed from the thoughts about the unrewarded and unsung – those tasked with the arduous job of rebuilding, repairing and caring for those affected during the years following a war.”

Katherine Jones is a British printmaker and painter.
