Words from Eileen Downs:
"The first Lockdown was a difficult time adjustment for us all, not being able to see our families, and grandchildren. My print depicts my positive thought of picking apples with my grandchildren in their garden during the previous summer. My grandchildren pointed to apple’s that where too high in the tree to reach, so we shook the tree with all our might and the apples tumbled to the ground, they then picked up an apple and took a huge bite - yum. My granddaughter now refers to the tree as Grannies Apple Tree. The thought of picking apples with my grandchildren was very motivational during lockdown and thankfully something we all achieved this Autumn.
This print was originally for my grandchildren and below is a short verse I wrote to go with it
Grannie's Apple Tree 2020
High in the apple tree out of reach, are apples so rosy and round
So, Grannie shakes the tree with all her might.
They then pick an apple from the ground and take a big bite."
