The Monstera White Monster is one of the rarest and most striking variegated Monsteras available to collectors. Known for its extreme white variegation, this plant produces dramatic leaves marbled, sectoral or sometimes almost completely white, creating a bold, high-contrast statement unlike any standard Monstera.
Highly sought after and released only in very limited numbers, White Monster is prized for its unpredictable growth and jaw-dropping foliage. Each leaf is unique — from crisp white panels to splashed and marbled patterns — making this a true centrepiece for advanced collectors.
Due to its high level of variegation, this plant is slow-growing and requires attentive care, but the reward is one of the most visually impressive Monsteras you can own.
Bright indirect light is absolutely essential.
Place in the brightest spot possible without direct sun
Avoid harsh sunlight, which can scorch white areas quickly
Insufficient light may cause weak growth or leaf loss
A grow light is strongly recommended, especially during UK autumn and winter.
Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil has dried.
Keep soil lightly moist, never waterlogged
Ensure excellent drainage at all times
Overwatering increases the risk of root rot, especially with slower-growing plants
Always err on the side of slightly underwatering rather than overwatering.
Ideal temperature: 18–26°C
Absolute minimum: 15°C
Thrives in high humidity (65–75%+)
High humidity is crucial to prevent browning and crisping on white sections. A humidifier is highly recommended.
A very free-draining aroid mix is essential.
Recommended mix:
Orchid bark for airflow
Perlite or pumice for drainage
Coco coir or peat for moisture balance
Small amount of compost or worm castings
Repot only when necessary — White Monster prefers stable conditions.
Feed monthly during spring and summer using a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength.
Avoid high nitrogen feeds
Do not fertilise in winter
Optional calcium-magnesium supplementation can help support leaf health.
Growth rate: slow
Leaves may be smaller and less frequent due to heavy variegation
A moss pole or support helps encourage stronger, more stable growth
Rotate regularly for even light exposure.
Remove damaged or failing leaves promptly
Fully white leaves may struggle long-term — this is normal
Variegation is unstable and naturally unpredictable
Clean tools are essential when pruning.
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs and children.

One of the most dramatic Monstera forms available
