"Chaos in Color" is one of my most time intensive works. It started with a few strokes of leftover paint, and got revisited after a few months of incubating, so to speak. The first was the sun, then the emanations of color coming out from the sun.
Eventually the painting developed so that there were a series of tangential lines. This is where it got super detailed.
White highlighted lines came into play in the sky. Then some little white lines on a series of emerald green lines reminded me of snow on treetops at the edge of a forest.
Three large tear drop shapes on the left remained as their own unique entities.
The name of this painting was inspired from a phrase in a book that had deep, spiritual significance to me. In the middle of an ephemeral forest, a form of order existed in what appeared to have no system.
Though an abundance of people are reminded of the work of a certain Dutch painter when they see this painting, I see more wavy lines in his, but more tangential straight lines in my own. My opinion is that other of my works may be more likely to be compared. However, I do accept the compliment.
My process prevents me from copying anything, even my own work. Any resemblance of my work to that of others is entirely coincidental. I generally paint from my head without using any reference material.
