Silver Poi necklace from Little Taonga. Poi originated from the Māori people and is used by wahine (woman) and swung in skilful rhythmical actions as part of a performance or dance.
Little Taonga treasures are designed by Ngāi Tahu and Rangitāne artist, Cezanne Lyons, drawing inspiration from her culture and love for Aotearoa. Each piece is crafted with fine brass, plated with Sterling Silver or Gold and then coated with a special tarnish resistance, to ensure it remains beautiful and protected from the elements and everyday wear.
Available online and in-store at Cable Car Museum and Wellington Museum. Explore our online collection of jewellery, taonga, souvenirs, science-themed gifts and more from across Aotearoa New Zealand.
