We built Zephira to keep a beloved making experience alive: a wool and silk 2/18 lace cone inspired by Jagger Spun’s Zephyr that feels next-to-skin soft, shows that treasured quiet glow, and finishes cleanly. After Zephyr was discontinued, makers asked for a dependable 2/18 they could plan around, so we carried those trusted specs forward with consistent quality and care that you can rely on.

Smooth warps, clean finish, lasting drape

Start fast with these setts and gauges

• Weaving setts for 2/18: about 18 to 20 epi for plain weave and 22 to 28 epi for twill. Sample to tune for your loom and beat.
• Knit gauge for lace fabrics: about 24 to 32 stitches per 4 inches on US 1 to 4, depending on fabric and finish.
• Crochet gauge (blocked): about 28 to 34 sc and 36 to 42 rows per 4 inches on US B-1 to C-2 for a firm fabric, or about 20 to 24 dc and 12 to 16 rows per 4 inches on US D-3 to E-4 for drapey lace.

Why a cone is the smart choice

• Continuous yardage: about 4,456 yards on one cone reduces joins and helps keep tension even.
• Smooth unwinding for warp, weft, and machine knitting.
• Efficient for sampling and multiple pieces from the same color lot.

Care is simple

• Hand wash cool with a wool wash. Press in a towel. Dry flat and reshape.
• Wool and silk colors can be less resistant to strong light than 100 percent wool. Store finished pieces out of direct light and test colorfastness before combining high contrast shades.
