It has a glossy, grayish brown bark that produces a pleasant aroma when scratched. It is ideal for mass planting, hedging, screening, bordering and as a specimen. It loves full sun or partial shade, with a minimum of 4 hours of sunlight per day. It grows best with acidic, moist and well-drained soil. It has resistance with infrequent drought and flooding, as well as sandy soil. It doesn't experience any serious disease and pest problems. It only needs to be watered during dry weather. Its urn-like fruits turn brown and ripe in September until October.
