This Cameronbridge 1989 is an exceptionally old single grain from the Lowlands, selected and bottled by Cadenhead's as part of their respected Small Batch series. Distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2019 after 29 years of maturation , it comes from two bourbon hogsheads .
Single grain at this level is rare. While young grain often remains simple, long maturation here reveals its full potential: depth, complexity, and a velvety-smooth structure, carried by power and concentration. At a bottling strength of 57.8% , this remains a whisky with authority, without being sharp.
Cameronbridge is one of Scotland's oldest and most historic grain distilleries, but bottles of this age and quality are rarely seen—certainly not under the Cadenhead's banner.
