Here we are transported to an imagined moment in Hackney’s past, led up the pathway to St Augustine’s Tower, welcomed by blossoming trees. The oldest surviving building in Hackney, it is all that remains of a 16th century Parish Church, which itself replaced a 13th century Medieval Church founded by the Knights of St John. It stands as a beacon of the past, still holding its ground as the city around it changes beyond recognition.
