“Beyond the Flight” was inspired by the day the Toronto Blue Jays lost their final game, and that familiar ache that comes when passion meets disappointment. As I painted the blue jay watching a butterfly drift into the light, I realized this piece wasn’t about baseball at all. It became a reminder that endings aren’t final. There is always another beginning, another chance to rise, another flight to take. The magnolias around them hold both strength and fragility, echoing the hope that carries us forward when we choose to keep creating.
