Provenance

Made in the 1980s, this vintage cocktail ring is highly unusual and so very fun! Set with a natural red tourmaline, a rare variety of the gemstone known as rubellite, prized for its rich and luminous red, not too dissimilar from ruby. The rubellite is a particularly vibrant and lively stone with remarkable clarity too. Oval-cut and claw-set above a closed solid gallery. 

The shoulders of the ring comprise a chunky yellow gold band, open with split detail and accented with grain-set diamonds. The round brilliant cuts have all been perfectly matched in colour and clarity and offer a stunning contrast to the deep, velvety tone of the tourmaline.
